About Zips Dry Cleaners

ZIPS started out as eight separate dry cleaners in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. In 2002, the stores united with the goal of providing a revolutionary dry cleaning experience that maintains high-quality services at one low price for any garment. Since then, ZIPS has expanded to over 50 locations across the country. We clean over 20 million garments for more than 500,000 customers every year, and we look forward to serving more customers every day!

Why Zip’s?

It’s tough to compete with our one-price, same-day business model. Not only do we clean up to four times the garments a traditional dry cleaner gets through every day, but we do it faster, too. Plus, we offer our customers an exceptionally efficient yet memorable experience. Altogether, it’s a concept our customers can’t get enough of — and thanks to our decades of experience in garment care — one our franchisees can easily replicate.

Why Will Customers Choose ZIPS Every Time?

We turned a luxury service into an everyday essential. Dry cleaning is a service everyone needs, whether you’re a ZIPS franchisee, a world-renowned chef or a high school student with a prom dress. Although many people consider dry cleaning a luxury, it’s a task that needs to get done nonetheless. At $2.49 or less per garment, even that high school student can afford to get their prom dress dry cleaned. Even better, ZIPS will have it done in time for mom and dad to pick up when they get off work. No wonder ZIPS is the smart choice for so many people. Other cleaners can charge up to five times as much and make you wait days for your clothes. So it’s no wonder that customer demand is fueling our impressive growth.

No one can match our model. – The ZIPS difference is our efficient technology-based system powered by our state-of-the-art equipment. It allows our franchisees to handle tremendous volume efficiently and effectively, and maintain solid margins for our services. In addition to this streamlined technology, you don’t have to worry about managing inventory or receivables – simplifying your day-to-day operations.

No one matches our experience. – The people who own ZIPS are owners themselves, operating one, if not more, ZIPS Dry Cleaners locations! Their expertise and support will be invaluable to you as a ZIPS franchisee. Our franchisees come from all walks of life, with backgrounds in finance, technology, the military, aeronautics, construction and more. And because ZIPS locations are not open Sundays or holidays, our franchisees enjoy the rewarding lifestyle that comes with business ownership.

No one matches our support. – ZIPS will give you the training and the tools you need to operate our high-volume dry cleaning business. When you meet our leadership, it is clear that we take an active role in making ZIPS as successful as possible for our franchisees.

Our 6-week comprehensive training program includes:

– Techniques and processes specific to both dry cleaning and laundry
– Management, daily operations and back office systems
– Specific store “start-up” assistance at each new location
– An Operations Manual that provides immediate review of procedures and clear, step-by-step instructions in daily procedures and management policies taught in the ZIPS training program.
– Site Selection Guidelines to help each franchisee make smart decisions about the site and location of their ZIPS Dry Cleaners franchise.
– Marketing Support that will help you grow your business from the day you open your doors, the ZIPS brand identity, along with advertising materials, marketing and promotional guidelines and much more.
