About Great Clips
Established in 1982, Great Clips started franchising in 1983 and now has more than 4,000 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Usually located in strip malls, Great Clips hair salons are open evenings and weekends and do not require appointments. No hair-care experience is required for franchisees, who operate 5 to 6 units after 5 years on average.
Great Clips is in the convenient, no appointment haircutting segment of the industry, and is the largest and fastest growing haircutting brand in the world. It is a simple, recession resistant business model- we do not offer color, waxing, tanning, or nail services because we want to keep the business simple and focus on the service that we do best- cutting hair. And, no matter what the economy looks like, people still need their hair cut, usually every 4-6 weeks.
At Great Clips, we are committed to helping keep everyone as safe and comfortable as possible in the salon. We care about the well-being of customers and stylists, which is why we’ve created the GreatCare Promise.
Our GreatCare Promise includes mask requirements for both stylists and customers, adherence to governing guidelines, Online Check-In and ReadyNext™ text alerts, and more. Come on in for a great haircut—we’re ready for you.
Here’s what the GreatCare Promise looks like in our salons:
– Preparing for your haircut
– Check in online. Online Check-In is the contactless, do-it-from-anywhere way to reserve your spot in the queue and spend your wait where you want.
– Sign up for ReadyNext. When you check-in online, opt in to receive a ReadyNext text telling you when to head to the salon, helping you spend less time inside.
– Bring your mask. All Great Clips stylists and customers are required to wear a mask or face covering in the salon. To make it easier to cut your hair, we strongly recommend the type that loops behind your ears.
Great Clips salons offer salon services for men, women, and children, including haircuts, shampoo, styling, trims, and conditioning treatments.
Great Clips is ideal for those seeking a moderate-risk, steady growth business.
Great Clips is a recession resistant business which requires a relatively low investment and allows franchisees to keep their day job while building their salon business.
