About Denny's Inc.

Denny’s is America’s diner. For over 60 years, Denny’s has been a place where people can come in, sit down and connect with one another over great food. It’s a place that was founded on togetherness, where you can have “the usual” or try something new. We’re always open and we’re always serving your favorites. So come in, leave your troubles at the door and enjoy some great food. See you at Denny’s. Harold Butler and Richard Jezak opened a donut stand in 1953 and called it Danny’s Donuts. Butler’s stated promise was “To serve the best cup of coffee, make the best donuts, give the best service, offer the best value and stay open 24 hours a day.” Today that donut stand is a restaurant chain with a slightly different name, over 1,700 locations and a proven reputation for keeping Mr. Butler’s original promise.

In 1963, after growing to 20 locations, Denny’s began coast to coast expansion with our franchising program that pushed us to 78 restaurants across seven western states.

Since then, Denny’s has always continued to seek out new and innovative ways to make our operations more efficient and help our franchisees operate more effectively. We are committed to our position as the go-to restaurant for America’s best breakfast, and away-from-home meal option. With years of experience, we know what it takes to serve the fabric of America.

BRAND ENDURANCE

Denny’s recognizes the importance of maintaining cultural relevance. We kept the classic Denny’s image fresh through innovative advertising, sports sponsorships, and menu tie-ins with major films. We also forge relationships through social media. From our YouTube web series to our interaction on Twitter and Facebook, Denny’s online vitality drives real-world sales.

With 90% of restaurants franchised, Denny’s dominance relies on franchisees. That’s why we launched our New & Emerging Markets Incentive Program, which encourages long-term franchise growth by saving qualified franchisees up to $1 million in expenses and royalties.
