In July 2013, Hector Westerband, an avid surfer, founded Acai Express in his homeland of Puerto Rico. Beginning with a single food truck in Guaynabo, Hector wanted to promote a healthy lifestyle centered around the nutrient-rich acai berry. The rapid popularity of his food truck meant he quickly expanded the brand to open franchises elsewhere on the island (13 locations in Puerto Rico as of 2018).

Using our Premium Organic 100% Grade “A” Acai as the centerpiece, our guests can practice an active and healthful eating lifestyle without giving up the flavor… They are always eager to “refresh” & feed their mind, body & soul with our array of delicious Acai Express super food bowls. We believe it’s essential for you to know that we make every effort to build the Acai Express brand in a socially responsible manner.

For example, we harvest our Acai Berries from local farmers in the Amazon Rainforest. By purchasing our acai from local farms in Brazil, it discourages deforestation. This practice also creates financial opportunities for the local farmers, their families and the communities where they live. We take this commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously.

The products we sell, the organizations we support and the lifestyle we promote all go hand in hand to build a better relationship not only with our guests but also with our planet in general.
